super output area

Sandwell is the fifth most deprived area in the united kingdom. The SOA resembles a sustainable community in Sandwell health but in not so sustainable in other areas such as housing.
Rank of Living Environment Score Rank was 8,468 in 2004 and then in 2007 it was 9,857 so this means that the living environment in Sandwell is a problem this at present is therefore unsustainable at present.
The Housing In Poor Condition score in 2004 was 0.45 and in 2007 is 0.33 so with the government decent homes standards housing has become more sustainable in Sandwell. The recycling levels have increased to 33% as the domestic and garden waste recycling levels have tripled over 6 years.
The combined Air Quality indicator was 1.43 in 2004 and rose to 1.67 in 2007This shows that the pollution in Sandwell is raising and therefore it sustainability can be questioned but on the information from the SOA I don’t feel at this moment it is sustainable.
30 people in the Sandwell bough alone provideunpaid care 50 hours or more is not sustainable due to the increase of older people living longer and requiring more care.My option is that Sandwell is not very sustainable at present and its growing implantations for the environment will have a good effect on creating a sustainable area.

Education for citizenship

The constituency in Sandwell is the Labour party. Within the labour party had lower increase levels. Children and young people exam results were the best ever in 2009. Crime and community safety was down by 13.7%. Refurbished leisure centres have been created. Housing has under gone a series of achievements regarding the Government’s decent homes standards. Adrian Bailey is the local MP for Sandwell and my local council is Sandwell Soho/ Victoria council. Sandwell is dominated by the Labour political party which has served Sandwell residents for 8 years.

Secondly
The attitude I have towards people who are not going to vote in the 2010 election is its there right not to vote but not voting you have no rights to have your say within the council or within you consistency. By not voting the changes to changing societies can not be enforced. When you vote even if the course doe/does not make a difference it still has an impact on changing societies. Impacts on individuals through sustaining businesses ,keeping taxes lower and other economic issues.
The main concerns which I have which may influence my vote is cutbacks to the welfare state. Another concern for me is the changes or cutbacks that will have an impact now in higher education and for my children in the future. Public Transport is also an issue along side its sustainability. The Government funding in regards to retaining work and employment will be an issue to me because it can create economic barriers.
